Baseball Game Preview: Jesuit Marauders vs. Salpointe Catholic Lancers

The Jesuit Marauders will take on the Salpointe Catholic Lancers in a tournament on Tuesday. Salpointe Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jesuit, who comes in off a win.

Jesuit saw some tournament action on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Faith Lutheran.

Jesuit saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Colombara, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Tayt Jackson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Jesuit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Lutheran only posted an OBP of .357.

Meanwhile, Salpointe Catholic is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Faith Lutheran. The Lancers fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 3-2. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

David Driskill was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucas Shannon, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Jesuit's record is now 13-6. As for Salpointe Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 17-1-1.

Jesuit came up short against Salpointe Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
