Baseball Game Preview: Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels vs. Frazee Hornets

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton is 8-1 against Frazee since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rebels will face off against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton has 12 straight victories, Frazee has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against East Grand Forks, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rebels skirted past the Green Wave 8-6.

Meanwhile, Frazee didn't have quite enough to beat Menahga on Monday and fell 5-4.

Noah Mekalson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over nine innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Conner Erickson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Mason Mickelson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Frazee, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1.
