South Harrison has gone 9-1 against Clay County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hawks will square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

South Harrison is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Williamstown just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 10-2 to the Yellowjackets. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

South Harrison got a good showing from Jacob Watts, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Watts has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, South Harrison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Gain, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Clay County faced off against Wirt County on Wednesday. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Clay County's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for South Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.

South Harrison beat Clay County 4-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
