Baseball Game Preview: Chariton Chargers vs. Central Lee Hawks

The Chariton Chargers will head out to face off against the Central Lee Hawks on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Chariton made easy work of Louisa-Muscatine and carried off a 10-2 victory. Considering the Chargers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Central Lee entered their tilt with Wilton on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They never let the Beavers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Central Lee's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chariton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Chariton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Central Lee when the teams last played back in July of 2019. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
