Lewiston suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Lewiston Bengals vs. Coeur d'Alene Vikings

The Lewiston Bengals suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 58-35 loss at the hands of Coeur d'Alene. While losing is never fun, Lewiston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Coeur d'Alene is ranked fifth).

Coeur d'Alene was led to victory by Brookeslee Colvin and Maddie Mitchell. Colvin scored nine points along with eight steals and five assists, while Mitchell scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Kendall Holecek, who scored ten points.

Lewiston's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-11. As for Coeur d'Alene, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Lewiston will head out on the road to face off against Lake City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake City is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games. As for Coeur d'Alene, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Post Falls at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Post Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
