Softball Recap: Collegiate Cougars vs. Trinity Episcopal Titans

Collegiate extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They lost 13-0 to the Trinity Episcopal Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 two weeks ago.

As for Trinity Episcopal, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

For Trinity Episcopal's part, Cooper Beatty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Beatty has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooke Shelton was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Harper Shelton was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coincidentally, Collegiate and Trinity Episcopal will both be playing Saint John Paul the Great Catholic the next time they take the field. The Titans will head out to face the Wolves at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
