Softball Recap: Marshall County Gets the Win

Marshall County let Tullahoma stack six runs on them in the first inning on Tuesday but luckily Marshall County prevailed anyway. The Tigers skirted past the Wildcats 10-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 last Friday.

Eryn Ketchum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Ketchum was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Carliyah Taylor was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Zakiya Taylor was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Marshall County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Tullahoma, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13.

Coming up, Marshall County will welcome Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tullahoma, they will take on Franklin County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
