Lynbrook's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: North Salinas hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand King City a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

North Salinas let Drew Cervantes and Jake Burkhardt run wild. Cervantes went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Burkhardt went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Cervantes a new career-high. David Avina was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
North Salinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King City only posted an OBP of .059.
Meanwhile, Lynbrook had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past Cupertino 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since March 28, 2024.
Cameron Chao spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Kang Chun was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
North Salinas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lynbrook, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.
Lynbrook's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Salinas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. It's a different story for Lynbrook, though, as they've only averaged .224. Will they be able to contain North Salinas' hitters?
