Football Game Preview: Carlynton Cougars vs. Washington Prexies

The Carlynton Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Washington Prexies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carlynton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 22.

Carlynton blew Sto-Rox out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Sto-Rox got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since September 27, 2024.

Washington never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Charleroi on Friday. They claimed a resounding 61-9 victory over the Cougars. Considering the Prexies have won six matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Washington's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games. As for Carlynton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Carlynton barely slipped by Washington in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 28-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
