Basketball Recap: Livermore's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Ramon Valley, Livermore was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over the Newark Memorial Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cowboys also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Loss or not, Newark Memorial got some senior leadership from Jacob Libiran and Cristian Failla. Libiran posted 12 points and three steals, while Failla had 11 points and seven rebounds. Libiran has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Oliver Chen was another key player, putting up six points.

Livermore moved to 14-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Newark Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Livermore has already played their next game, an 81-36 loss against Dougherty Valley on the 21st. As for Newark Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-46 victory against Washington on the 21st.
