Basketball Recap: William Campbell Comes Up Short

William Campbell and Altavista squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but William Campbell had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Altavista Colonels by a score of 63-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (59), the Generals still had to take the loss.

William Campbell has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 6-18 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. The victory made it two in a row for Altavista and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

While William Campbell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
