Baseball Recap: Salida Takes a Loss

Salida came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-2 to the Lamar Thunder. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Salida saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Rodrigue, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Salida's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lamar, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.

Salida didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-0 win against Platte Canyon on the 30th. As for Lamar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against Bennett on the 1st.
