Football Recap: Hamden Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hamden lost against North Haven back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Green Dragons came up short against the Nighthawks, falling 28-7. The Green Dragons gained 54 more yards on the day, but it was the Nighthawks that made the best use of them.

Evelio Lugo threw for 118 yards on 11 of 19 attempts. Roman Morales was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards. On the ground, Josh Johnson rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown.

North Haven found their leader in sophomore Artie McCormack IV, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of scores. McCormack IV also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Nighthawks are 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Hamden and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for North Haven, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Hamden and North Haven will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Green Dragons see the field they'll take on Notre Dame at 10:30 a.m. on the 27th. As for North Haven, their break will end when they face West Haven at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
