Preview: Dorsey Dons vs. King/Drew Golden Eagles
The Dorsey Dons will head out on the road to face off against the King/Drew Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Dorsey didn't have too much trouble with Dymally at home as they won 30-14.
Meanwhile, King/Drew got themselves on the board against Fremont on Friday, but Fremont never followed suit. They blew past the Pathfinders, posting a 32-0 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but King/Drew sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Keenan Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew for King/Drew as he rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Kameron Gates also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
King/Drew's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Fremont's QB won't forget Chinedu Onyeagoro anytime soon given Onyeagoro sacked him seven times.
Dorsey is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for King/Drew, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 3-6.
Everything went Dorsey's way against King/Drew in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 as Dorsey made off with a 26-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dorsey since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
