Baseball Game Preview: Wenatchee Panthers vs. West Valley Rams

The Wenatchee Panthers will take on the West Valley Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wenatchee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Wenatchee will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Davis, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Pirates on Friday.

Owen Ervin and Griffin Butler did most of the damage at the plate: Ervin went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Butler went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Butler has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Nolan Godfrey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Wenatchee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Valley entered their tilt with Moses Lake on Friday with 15 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 16. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Mavericks. Considering the Rams have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

West Valley pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Wenatchee, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
