Basketball Recap: South Oak Cliff Falls Short of Hillcrest in the Playoffs

South Oak Cliff and Hillcrest squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but South Oak Cliff had to settle for second. They took a hard 50-33 fall against the Hillcrest Panthers. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-26 two weeks ago.

Hillcrest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clauriannys Berrios, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Berrios has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Norton, who posted ten points along with seven boards and five steals.

South Oak Cliff has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Hillcrest, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-13.

South Oak Cliff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillcrest, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hillcrest Panthers challenge the Wilson Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
