Softball Recap: Organ Mountain Takes a Loss

Organ Mountain fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Centennial on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 4-3. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Ariyah Cordova spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Caillin Reyes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Organ Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9-1. As for Centennial, the win keeps they at an undefeated 22-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Organ Mountain is set to face off against their familiar foe Mayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Centennial will take on rival Las Cruces at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are on a 21-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Bulldawgs a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
