Football Recap: Crimson Cliffs' Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Crimson Cliffs won the last time they faced Hurricane and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs managed a 21-16 win over the Tigers. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Tigers are ranked 64th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crimson Cliffs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxson Holt out in front who picked up 28 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Although Hurricane took the loss, they still got scores from Austyn McRoberts and Cj Trump.

The win (which was Crimson Cliffs' fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.3 points over those games. As for Hurricane, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Crimson Cliffs will face off against rival Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Van Dailey and Isaac Andresen. Meanwhile, Hurricane is set to take on their familiar foe Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 825 yards in their previous games.
