Basketball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Takes a Loss

Cardinal Mooney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 72-40 loss at the hands of the Madison Blue Streaks. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 234th).

Cardinal Mooney's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney will finish 2024 at home by hosting Hathaway Brown at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Madison, they will host Normandy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Madison's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
