Basketball Recap: Leesville Comes Up Short

Leesville lost to Anacoco last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wampus Cats came up short against the Indians, falling 72-46. While losing is never fun, the Wampus Cats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Indians are ranked 58th).

Leesville has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Anacoco, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Leesville and Oak Hill will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Wampus Cats will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Anacoco, they will venture away from home to take on Pitkin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
