Football Recap: Dalton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Dalton's game on Friday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rabun County Wildcats. If the Catamounts were looking for revenge after losing 35-13 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Dalton still got an impressive performance from Caine Woods, who threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 73 yards and one TD on only nine carries. With that strong performance, Woods is now averaging an impressive 304.8 passing yards per game. Havyn Searels was Woods' top target, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Rabun County can attribute much of their success to Ty Truelove, who threw for 217 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 57 yards. Another player making a difference was Lake Evans, who rushed for 49 yards and a pair of TDs.

Dalton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rabun County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Dalton has already played their next match, a 45-14 loss against Cartersville on the 12th. As for Rabun County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-3 victory against Bremen on the 12th.
