Baseball Recap: Rainier Beach Comes Up Short

Rainier Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 22-2 to the Franklin Quakers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Rainier Beach saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ala'Saga Mu'Ied, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Palani Hesus also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Rainier Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Franklin, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

While Rainier Beach had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
