Cade Chambers accounted for 248 yards and four touchdowns as Maryville rolled to 42-21 Class 6A state title win over Ravenwood Saturday at Tennessee State's Tucker Stadium.
According to
wate.com, Chamber was voted the game MVP after throwing for 172 yards and two scores and rushing for 76 yards and two more touchdowns.
It was Maryville's 17th state title, but first since 2017.
Tennessee-bound running back
Tee Hodge rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns for Maryville, which finished 15-0. Ravenwood, after its third state title, finished 13-2.
In other championship games, Knoxville Central captured its ts second straight Tennessee D1-5A championship with a 30-7 win over Summit Friday night.
Dakota Fawver was voted Game MVP after throwing for 215 yards and two scores as the Bobcats finished 13-2. Summit finished 12-3.
Knoxville Central scored the first 24 points of the game and never really looked back.
In other D1 results from Friday, Alcoa won the 3A championship with a 27-0 win over Pearl-Cohn, and in 1A, Lake County took care of Greenback 38-23.
In D2 finals on Thursday, McCalle defeated Bellaca 28-7 in 3A, Evangelical Christian recorded a 17-14 2A win over Christ Presbyterian and Davidson Academy scored a 31-21 1A play.
Champions in 2018 include Whitwell (Division I Class 1A), Peabody (Division I Class 2A), Alcoa (Division I Class 3A), Greeneville (Division I Class 4A), Knoxville Central (Division I Class 5A), Oakland (Division I Class 6A), Davidson Academy (Division II Class A), Christ Presbyterian Academy (Division II Class AA) and Brentwood Academy (Division II Class AAA).
