Softball Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. Greencastle Tiger Cubs
Cascade is 8-0 against Greencastle since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Cascade Cadets will look to defend their home field against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 5:30 p.m. Cascade will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
Cascade was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Avon.
Grace Gray was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Gray was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adie Paschal, who went 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. Emmyrson Nottingham was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
