Basketball Recap: Knox City Comes Up Short

Knox City lost against Benjamin back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knox City Greyhounds took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benjamin Mustangs.

Benjamin found their leader in sophomore Keegan Hayes, who dropped a double-double with 34 points and 11 boards. Hayes' evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Tallon Hayes, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Knox City's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Benjamin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Knox City will take on Jayton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Benjamin has already played their next contest (against Paint Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
