Volleyball Recap: Emily Miller Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Roxboro Community, Franklin Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Triangle Math & Science Tigers. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Franklin Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-10, 25-16.

Franklin Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Miller led the charge by getting seven digs and three aces. What's more, Miller posted two kills, the most she's had since back in September. Ericka Ocampo Miranda was another key player, getting six digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Franklin Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Franklin Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Triangle Math & Science, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Franklin Academy will head out on the road to face off against Raleigh Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Triangle Math & Science, they will venture away from home to challenge Research Triangle Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
