Baseball Recap: Staunton Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

The Staunton Storm earned a 6-3 victory over the Central Woodstock Falcons on Friday.

Staunton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zack Hinkle, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run was Hinkle's first of the season. Another was Gabe Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Staunton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Staunton's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Central Woodstock, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Staunton will be playing at home against Wilson Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Woodstock, they will head out to face off against Luray at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
