Softball Game Preview: Linden-Kildare Tigers vs. McLeod Longhorns

Linden-Kildare hasn't had much luck against McLeod recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Linden-Kildare will host McLeod at 6:00 p.m. Linden-Kildare is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Linden-Kildare made easy work of Pewitt and carried off a 13-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Brahmas: they've now won five in a row.

Ada Whatley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. Whatley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Oivia Stewart, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Allie Watson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Linden-Kildare kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 21 runs the game before, McLeod was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Maud. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Linden-Kildare's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for McLeod, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
