Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Steele). They came out on top against the Avon Lake Shoremen by a score of 81-71 on Friday. While the Comets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Steele's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Avon Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Steele and Avon Lake could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Steele (ranked 239th) will meet Keystone (ranked 107th) at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Similarly, Avon Lake will face off against Barberton at 12:00 p.m. on Friday down 331 places (561 vs. 230).
