Front Range Christian and Flatirons Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Bison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Front Range Christian faced off against Gilpin County on Tuesday. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Front Range Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 27-25, 25-10, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Front Range Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Morgan Battey had 22 digs. Battey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
Meanwhile, Flatirons Academy got the win against Union Colony Prep on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bison.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Flatirons Academy was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-12.
Front Range Christian better focus on containing Tessa Miller and Lexi Richman as the pair were huge in Flatirons Academy's win. Miller had ten digs and five aces, while Richman had five digs, four aces, and one block. That's the most aces Miller has posted since back in August.
Front Range Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Flatirons Academy, their record is now 13-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Front Range Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Flatirons Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
