Softball Recap: Nimitz Comes Up Short

After flying high against Benjamin Davis last Wednesday, Nimitz came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Eisenhower Eagles by a score of 11-10 on Friday. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Josephine Bilbao was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antinia Wilson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Nimitz's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Eisenhower, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Nimitz will take on Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last ten matchups. As for Eisenhower, they will venture away from home to square off against Aldine at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.21 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
