Football Preview: Parkersburg Big Reds vs. Capital Cougars

The Parkersburg Big Reds will head out to face off against the Capital Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Parkersburg focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up four on Friday.

Parkersburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Parkersburg South, who was ranked ninth in their home state at the time (Parkersburg was ranked 25th). Parkersburg fell 26-17 to Parkersburg South. The Big Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parkersburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Capital, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Parkersburg against Capital in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 as the team secured a 56-14 win. In that contest, Parkersburg amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
