Football Recap: Centennial Bulldogs vs. Desert Pines Jaguars
Centennial had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They and the Desert Pines Jaguars were almost perfectly matched up, but the Centennial Bulldogs suffered a 34-33 loss. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak dating back to last season.
Desert Pines found their leader in underclassman Marcus Williams, who rushed for 300 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per carry. Williams' longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Te'O, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Centennial will face off against Desert Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Desert Pines, they are taking a road trip to square off against Ayala at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
