Softball Recap: Circleville Gets the Win

Circleville took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bloom-Carroll, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Bulldogs on Monday.

Kaylee West was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Audrey Cowdery, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Circleville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Bloom-Carroll, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Circleville will welcome Unioto at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Shermans have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Bloom-Carroll, they will host Johnstown-Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Johnnies have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
