Softball Recap: Lawrence County Victorious

Lawrence County won the last time they faced Madison Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Devils came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

The team relied heavily on Brileigh Strange, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last three games. Alivia Templeton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Lawrence County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison Academy only posted a batting average of .292.

Lawrence County's win bumped their record up to 26-8-1. As for Madison Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lawrence County will venture away from home to take on West Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison Academy, they will head out to square off against Westminster Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
