Volleyball Recap: Manitou Springs Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Manitou Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fowler Grizzlies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Manitou Springs ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23.

Aleia McBride paced Manitou Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. McBride got some help from Kate Jorstad and her 12 assists. Finally, Olivia Moreson kept Manitou Springs' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Manitou Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Fowler, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Manitou Springs will take on Arrupe Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, Fowler and Rocky Ford will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
