Volleyball Recap: Aldyn Lightsey Key Part of Team Effort in Cowboys Win

The Madison County Cowboys made easy work of the Munroe Bobcats on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Madison County not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Munroe between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-17.

Madison County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aldyn Lightsey led the charge by getting eight digs and three aces. Lightsey is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Bass, who had 20 assists and six digs.

They weren't the only good server: Madison County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They are 4-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Madison County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Munroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Madison County will face off against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munroe has already played their next match (against Franklin County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
