Baseball Recap: George C. Marshall Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times George C. Marshall and Yorktown have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Statesmen lost 10-1 to the Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Tuesday.

George C. Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2. As for Yorktown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Coming up, George C. Marshall is taking a road trip to take on Herndon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Statesmen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Yorktown, they will host Bishop O'Connell at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
