Recap: Pinewood Christian Patriots vs. John Milledge Academy Trojans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pinewood Christian Patriots can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the Trojans on Friday, falling 63-28. Pinewood Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.
Pinewood Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Banks Booth, who threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns, and Jake Rogers who picked up 208 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Javian Butts, who rushed for 284 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry for John Milledge Academy. Butts hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Kolt McMichael, who threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes.
John Milledge Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Keontae Whipple was the leader with two sacks.
Pinewood Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for John Milledge Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Pinewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. John Milledge Academy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Valwood at 8:00 p.m. Valwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
