Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kearny). Their defense stepped up to hand the Clairemont Chieftains a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Komets needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Kearny now has a winning record of 4-3-3. As for Clairemont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
