McLane has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will welcome the Avenal Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, McLane finally turned things around against Livingston on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wolves.

The 2-0 doesn't show just how dominant McLane was: they took both sets by at least nine points. After all that action, the final score was 25-16, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Avenal got the win against Wonderful College Prep Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-20.

Krista Martin had a dynamite game for Avenal, getting four aces and 38 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Etchison, who had five kills, four digs, and three aces.

Etchison wasn't the only one working in the aces department: Avenal was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wonderful College Prep Academy only served four.

McLane's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Avenal, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
