Baseball Recap: Mattawan Has No Trouble Against Franklin

Mattawan got themselves on the board against Franklin on Saturday, but Franklin never followed suit. They blew past the Patriots 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mattawan pushed their record up to 15-3-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mattawan will challenge Portage Northern at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Dearborn at 4:30 p.m. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
