Softball Recap: Tucumcari Takes a Loss

After flying high against Santa Rosa on Monday, Tucumcari came back down to earth. The Rattlers came up short against the Estancia Bears on Saturday, falling 15-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Rattlers were not able to get on the board.

Tucumcari saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caylee Benavidez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Benavidez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Tucumcari's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Estancia, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bears beat Tucumcari by a score of 15-0 later that day.
