Basketball Recap: Swain County Comes Up Short

Swain County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-39 to the Murphy Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-40 last Friday.

Swain County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Murphy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swain County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Andrews at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Murphy, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Hayesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hayesville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Murphy surely won't give up without a fight.
