Baseball Preview: Central Cambria Red Devils vs. Richland Rams

Central Cambria is 2-8 against Richland since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Central Cambria took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Northern Cambria. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Alex Wingard looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Maddox Vojtko and Ryan Ozog did most of the damage at the plate: Vojtko went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Ozog went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Robertson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Richland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
