Baseball Recap: Needles Victorious

Needles owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Lowry Buckaroos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

The result came thanks to Gabe Rodriguez's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Goulet, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Gavin Hazlewood was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Needles now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lowry, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Looking ahead, Needles will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Fernley at 10:30 a.m. As for Lowry, they will challenge Central at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Buckaroos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
