Basketball Recap: North Forney Find Success

North Forney got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Forney Jackrabbits 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since November 22, 2024.

North Forney had a senior duo take command as Taeshaun Benson went 7 of 15 to rack up 20 points and Zach Thompson went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points. Thompson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Marcus Page Jr. was another key player, putting up four points.

North Forney smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

North Forney's win bumped their record up to 13-20. As for Forney, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season.

Looking ahead, North Forney will head out to take on Tyler Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Tyler Legacy's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while North Forney has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Forney, they will face off against Royse City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
