Baseball Game Preview: Egg Harbor Township Eagles vs. Cedar Creek Pirates

The Egg Harbor Township Eagles will square off against the Cedar Creek Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Egg Harbor Township managed to slip by Millville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Thunderbolts on Wednesday, falling 8-0. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Thunderbolts since on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Cedar Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Spartans.

Nolan Scholder was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Cedar Creek's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Egg Harbor Township, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.
