Basketball Recap: Lake Marion's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 17

Lake Marion waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They blew past the Edisto Cougars 68-24. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Lake Marion found their leader in sophomore Rayleigh Davis, who posted 19 points and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Davis a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%). Jimyria Green was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Lake Marion smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 33 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Lake Marion pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Edisto, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Marion will welcome Hampton County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Lake Marion: 26.9, Hampton County: 29.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Edisto, they will take on Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
