Softball Recap: Granger Lancers vs. Corner Canyon Chargers
Granger's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Corner Canyon Chargers by a score of 14-11. Considering the Lancers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Granger got a massive performance out of Haylie Harper, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Harper has posted since back in March of 2024. Mackenzie Salazar was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two doubles, and one RBI.
Granger hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corner Canyon struck out ten times.
Granger's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Corner Canyon, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Granger and Corner Canyon will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Lancers see the field they'll take on Hillcrest at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Corner Canyon, their break will end when they face East at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th.
